BE-RPL: Balanced-load and Energy-efficient RPL
نویسندگان
چکیده
Internet of Things (IoT) empowers imaginative applications and permits new services when mobile nodes are included. For IoT-enabled low-power lossy networks (LLN), the Routing Protocol for Low-power Lossy Networks (RPL) has become an established standard routing protocol. Mobility under RPL remains a difficult issue as it causes continuous path disturbance, energy loss, increases end-to-end delay in network. In this unique circumstance, Balanced-load Energy-efficient (BE-RPL) is proposed. It technique that both energy-efficient mobility-aware. responds quicker to link breakage through received signal strength-based mobility monitoring selecting preferred parent reactively. The proposed system also implements load balancing among stationary leaf node allocation. Static with more restricted from participating election parent. performance BE-RPL assessed using COOJA simulator. improves use, network control overhead, frame acknowledgment ratio, packet delivery ratio

Energy Efficient RPL Routing Protocol in Smart Buildings
Energy is an important factor that must be considered by multi-hop wireless mesh routing protocols because most sensors are powered by batteries with a limited capacity. We focus on the industry-standard RPL (Routing Protocol over Low-power and lossy networks) routing protocol that must find energy-efficient paths in low-power and lossy networks. However, the existing RPL objective functions ro...
متن کاملEnergy-based routing metric for RPL
Saving power while ensuring acceptable service levels is a major concern in wireless sensor networks, since nodes are usually deployed and not replaced in case of breakdown. Several efforts have recently led to the standardization of a routing protocol for low power and lossy network. The standard provides various metrics, which can be used to guide the routing. Most protocol implementations us...
متن کاملDemo Abstract: RPL over Bluetooth Low Energy
In this demo, we present interoperability between Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and IPv6 routing protocol for low power and lossy networks (RPL). To make the operation of RPL over BLE feasible, we design an adaptation layer between BLE and RPL, termed ALBER. Specifically, we develop three technical features in ALBER which enable BLE to be combined with RPL. First, it broadcasts RPL control message...
متن کاملTRAIL: Topology Authentication in RPL
The IPv6 Routing Protocol for Low-Power and Lossy Networks (RPL) was recently introduced as the new routing standard for the Internet of Things. Although RPL defines basic security modes, it remains vulnerable to topological attacks which facilitate blackholing, interception, and resource exhaustion. We are concerned with analyzing the corresponding threats and protecting future RPL deployments...

Denial of Service (DoS) attacks serve to diminish the ability of the network to perform its intended function over time. As DoS attacks may permeate the veil of the Internet of Things (IoT) devices from the broader internet, it is vital that these devices are able to mitigate these attacks. If such a network of IoT devices were to fail during time of need, lives of patients, war fighters, or th...
